A total of 128 solar panels were installed, each with the capacity to produce up to 270 watts of electricity annually. The energy from this solar installation is used by the Dane County Department of Land and Water Resources (LWRD) and the Dane County UW-Extension Office.
The solar electric system for the Lussier Family Heritage Center includes PV on the roof of the Center and PV on a park shelter behind the Center. This 71 kW solar energy system provides more than 90% of the power needed for the Lussier Center. The 230-panel system complements the adjacent system that powers the William G. Lunney Lake Farm Park and Campground.
Lake Farm is Dane County’s first solar-powered park and campground. The 71.8 kW solar energy system at William G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park and Campground includes PV on the roof of the shower building and on the roof of a park shelter. This system will provide almost 90% of the electricity used at the campground.The 230 panelsystem complements a similar installation that powers the adjacent Lussier Family Heritage Center facility.
In 2018 Dane County installed a 179 kW solar array at the Dane County Job Center.
The 19.8 kW rooftop solar system was installed in 2017 on the new home of the Dane County Library Service facility.
In 2016, Dane County installed a solar array on the rooftop of the new Dane County highway garage. The 158.4 KW system consists of 576 solar panels.
In 2016 Dane County Installed a 75.6 kW solar array on the rooftop of the Medical Examiner’s facility. The system features 275 solar panels.
In 2020 Dane County added a 33.4 KW solar energy system at the Dane County Law Enforcement Training Center.
