Dane County has been selected for an innovative Municipal Investment Fund grant to build the market for clean energy projects. This grant will help us build a stronger market for clean energy in Dane County, especially in low-income and underserved communities.
We are partnering with the Wisconsin Local Government Climate Coalition (WLGCC) on this effort. WLGCC will receive a $250,000 market building grant from the Municipal Investment Fund to help the Dane County Office of Energy & Climate Change develop a public-private partnership plan to develop an innovative pipeline of projects that will reduce energy costs in specific priority areas.
The grant was made possible by the Coalition for Green Capital and supported by ICLEI- Local Governments for Sustainability USA (ICLEI USA), which have created a public/private partnership to accelerate the development and construction of smart infrastructure projects across the country.
This grant will help us invest in solutions that will make us resilient, increase energy affordability, and grow our economy. Over the next six months our team will be reaching out to interested stakeholders to get input on potential market sectors and project types.
