As part of their 2021 Renewable Energy Summit, RENEW Wisconsin named Dane County 2020 Renewable Energy Pioneer of the Year. RENEW staff recorded a video highlighting Dane County's leadership.
There are a lot of talented Dane County staff who played a role in earning this recognition. Our leadership has prioritized climate action. Our Facilities and Public Works staff have made our facilities efficient and enabled solar installations on numerous facilities. Our Waste and Renewables team envisioned the RNG plant and made it happen. Our Highway staff is embracing RNG vehicles. Our Land and Water staff are facilitating natural carbon solutions and supporting smart strategies that improve water and soil quality while sequestering carbon emissions.
We are grateful to earn this recognition and we are determined to continue to lead toward a clean energy future that benefits all Dane County stakeholders. We will do it together.
