Waunakee Community School District

• Waunakee High School featues a 4.6 kW solar array.
• Waunakee Intermediate School featurs a 19.6 kW solar energy system.

Waunakee Community High School has numerous student organizations. Of note:

• ECO (Environmentally Compassionate Organization) Club, is on Instagram and was also profiled in the Waunakee Tribune
• Gardening to Restore Our World (GROW) (previously known as the Garden of Dreams) cultivates vegetables at Waunakee Community High School and then donates them to local nonprofit organizations that support families in need.

KEEP Energy Educator Awards: The Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education Program (KEEP) annually sponsors the Energy Educator of the Year Award to increase the visibility of the network of outstanding educators across the state of Wisconsin. The 2014 winners included Betsy Buckley of Waunakee Community High School.

The district received Wisconsin Environmental Education Board grants for a solar project and integrating fuel cell technology.
